MAGIC is the name for a series of enrichment opportunities that allow students to explore their interests. MAGIC groups are open to all students at the upper elementary level (grades 4 and 5), and typically meet during lunch and/or recess time, no more than two days a week.
Students do not need to sign up in advance - they just show up!
MAGIC opportunities planned for this year include:
Publishing
Pawley Press newspaper, literary magazine, podcasting, research, web design...
Makerspace (formerly Tinker Lab)
Engineering & Design, STEM, Coding, Electronics, "Making"...
MAGIC Publishing will meet on Mondays throughout the year.
MAGIC Makerspace will meet on Thursdays throughout the year.
Frequently Asked Questions
MAGIC programming is designed to be fast-paced academic enrichment that goes beyond the classroom. It is expected that, in addition to meeting times, students who participate in MAGIC programming will work on their own time outside of school.
All MAGIC programming is optional, and students may choose to opt out at any time. Students who opt out will be welcomed to join another group that interests them later in the school year.
